After a 4-1 season opener loss to the Lake Raiders the Mustangs looked to even the series.

The first period saw the Mustangs throw everything at the Lake Raiders, unfortunately it would be the Lake Raiders Jeremy Schofield who would open the scoring with a solo effort at 3:16. Both sides would continue to exchange many glorious chances until the 13:00 mark, when a open Roberto Monteiro would connect on a Nicole Gordon pass beating the Lake Raiders net minder, taking a 1-1 tie into the second.

The Lake Raiders would respond early in the second on an Erin Vasilakos (Jeremy Schofield) passing play at 2:35. Shortly after which the Mustangs tandem of Roberto Monteiro (Nicole Gordon) would go five hole, at 5:00 knotting things up at 2s. the Mustangs would then go on to take the lead for the first time in the game off a Nicole Gordon (Sergio Correia, Roberto Monteiro) shot at 11:35, however the Lake Raiders stormed back with 2 Jeremy Schofield solo efforts closing out the second period with the 4-3 advantage.

In the final frame, Mustangs sniper Roberto Monteiro’s hard work payed off netting the equalizer and his third of the game at 1:38, however less than a minute later the Lake Raiders would regain the lead on a Jeremy Schofield (unassisted) rising shot at 2:25, with Erin Vasilakos (Jeremy Schofield) building on the lead at 7:20, from that point on closing the door and rolling onto they’re fifth straight win.
