Lake Raiders complete comeback against Saints.

TPWHL Lake Raiders vs Saints

Saturday March 8th. 2014 12:30pm -1:30pm. With both teams fighting for third place in the standings, competition was intense. Action started quite early as the Saints Don Deschamps (unassisted) scored at the 4:00 mark. Soon after the Saints built on their lead with a Brandy Edwards solo effort at 7:08 closing out the 1st period.

The second frame began with the Lake Raiders getting on the board with a Jeremy Schofield marker at 1:23. Brandy Edwards (unassisted) put the Saints up 3-1 at 8:03. 45 seconds later Jeremy Schofield tucks one under the crossbar to pull the Lake Raiders within one. With the Lake Raiders serving a dangerous driving call, Brandy Edwards connects of a face-off win to Don Deschamps who beats goaltender Neil Mercer with the one timer taking a 4-2 lead into the third.

As we’ve see time and time in the game of hockey, a 2 goal lead can be deadly as the Lake Raiders poured it on in the third with four unanswered goals. 4:50 saw Jeremy Schofield (unassissted) net his 3rd for the hat trick. Erin Vassilakos (Jeremy Schofield) banged in her 18th goal on the season tieing things up 4-4. the Lake Raiders kept up the pressure taking the lead on a Jeremy Schofield solo line drive at 12:23, 12:57 saw the Lake Raiders complete the come back on a Jeremy Schofield shorthanded goal for the 6-4 victory.
